Preparing For Your Long-Term Living Stay

When you arrive for your long-term stay, you’ll be welcomed by our friendly staff and assisted to your private room, which includes a private bathroom and shower.

To assist with this transition, friends and family members are encouraged to join you on the day of your arrival at Rehab at Shannondell.

To make you feel at home, we invite you to bring personal items such as a favorite pillow, blanket, reading materials and family pictures. You are also welcome to bring a laptop, tablet computer or e-reader.

You will be more comfortable in your new environment when you bring along a few personal items — such as a favorite pillow, blanket, reading materials, family photos and your cell phone, e-reader, computer or laptop — to make you feel at home.

You’ll also need to bring:

  • Photo identification
  • Proof of insurance — Medicare, Medicaid, managed care and prescription cards
  • Medical documents — such as power of attorney, guardian or healthcare surrogate
  • Comfortable clothes — To enjoy all that your Rehab at Shannondell residence offers – including activities, gatherings and outdoor areas – it’s important for you to have clothes that are comfortable. We highly recommend that you bring clothing that can be layered so that you can maximize your comfort throughout the day, whether resting indoors or enjoying the weather outside.

Soon after your arrival, our registered nurses will meet with you to review your overall long-term plan of care, making sure your questions are answered and that you are comfortable. A nurse practitioner will also be consistently monitoring your care and will be in constant communication with our registered nurses and your physician to ensure that your care needs are being promptly addressed. Throughout this process, families of Rehab at Shannondell residents enjoy frequent communication with staff. 24/7 visitation also makes it easy and convenient to remain in touch with friends and family.

Long-term living residents can take advantage of daily activities including games, socials, music, movies, pet therapy and spiritual gatherings. Additionally, free wireless internet service and landline phones (optional) are available to stay connected.
